Senator Eric Wimberger, a Republican representing Wisconsin's 2nd Senate district since 2025, has recently posted several updates on X regarding state education standards, park funding, and tax relief measures.

On August 15, 2025, Wimberger criticized the state's approach to school evaluations. He stated, "Superintendent Underly is lowering standards for Wisconsin's school report card system - again. Just last year, she lowered standards to make it easier for schools to improve their score without making any actual gains for our kids. Parents deserve to know the truth about how https://t.co/UlWc59UNNb".

The following day, August 16, Wimberger highlighted changes in the management of Wisconsin’s State Parks System. He wrote, "Wisconsin's new State Budget continues our work to make the State Parks System self-sustaining. For years, Wisconsin taxpayers used to subsidize every camping trip in one of our state parks. But now, thanks to the Legislature's better business practices, our parks remain".

On August 17, Wimberger addressed recent tax policy developments by Republican lawmakers in Madison: "Republican leadership in Madison fought to include $1.5 billion in tax relief in our new State Budget. Second-highest income tax cut in Wisconsin's history Lowering the tax burden on middle-class families An average $1,000 income tax cut for retirees Keeping taxes low".

Wimberger assumed office after being elected in 2025 and succeeded Robert Cowles as senator for Wisconsin’s 2nd Senate district.
