On July 2, 2025, Senator Wimberger announced the approval of a motion he authored with Representative Ben Franklin to secure $30 million for a rail crossing at the Southern Bridge site. He stated, "Last budget, I secured $50M to finally construct the Southern Bridge. Yesterday, I was proud to join the budget committee to approve a motion I authored with @RepBenFranklin to secure $30M for the rail crossing at the site." This funding is intended as an investment in what he described as a transformational project.

Later that day, on July 2, 2025, Senator Wimberger emphasized efforts to expand the Port of Green Bay. He declared that expanding this port will significantly impact Brown County's economic growth in the long term. In collaboration with Representative Ben Franklin, they secured $20 million in funding for this initiative. The program aims to give high school students from Northeast Wisconsin early access to college education opportunities.
