The Sheboygan Theatre Company (STC) has received a Creative Communities Grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board. This grant will fund an educational workshop series set to commence with a kickoff week in July 2025, followed by monthly workshops for the remainder of STC’s 92nd season.

Tricia Roberts, Executive Director of STC, expressed appreciation for the grant: “It is an honor to receive this recognition and support from the Wisconsin Arts Board. This grant allows us to reignite our educational mission and provide even more opportunities for our community to engage with the arts.” The workshop series aims to offer hands-on learning experiences that promote theater arts, mindfulness, self-confidence, and community connections.

The Creative Communities grants program supports arts education, cultural understanding, and community arts development across Wisconsin. It backs projects that align with the Arts Board’s goals in areas like Arts Education and Local Arts.

STC’s application focused on creating accessible arts education opportunities for all ages and experience levels. The grant will enable an intensive kickoff week in July featuring multiple classes, followed by one workshop day each month through STC’s 92nd season.

“This grant represents more than just funding—it’s an investment in our community’s creative future,” Roberts added. “We’re committed to using these resources to break down barriers to arts participation.”

Workshops will cover various theater aspects from performance techniques to behind-the-scenes crafts. Details about workshops and registration will be announced soon.

For further information about STC and upcoming workshops, interested parties can contact the Community Recreation Department at 920-459-3773.

Founded in 1934, Sheboygan Theatre Company serves Sheboygan and its surroundings as a volunteer-run organization operating within a non-profit framework. It produces several Main Stage shows annually at the Leslie W. Johnson Theatre on Horace Mann Middle School’s campus.
