Sheboygan’s Float Doctor, the only certified Float Lab in Wisconsin, has entered its ninth year of operation. The center was founded by Elizabeth Heitzmann, a board-certified psychotherapist and integrative health practitioner. After managing her own nerve damage pain with medication for years, Heitzmann turned to integrative approaches that helped her stop using pain medications. This experience led her to open Float Doctor in Sheboygan.

“Given our success over the past 9 years, I wanted to expand my reach and help others outside of Sheboygan county to get the best from their float experiences. People do come from all over the country to use our facility and get personalized treatment that has made a tremendous difference and improvement in their lives,” Elizabeth said. “Mindfulness approaches and supplements that are tailored for each person in conjunction with our holistic services need to be available to more people to naturally heal their bodies and spirits.”

Heitzmann has worked with thousands of clients dealing with anxiety, chronic stress, pain, sleep issues, and emotional overwhelm. Many travel long distances for float therapy combined with other natural healing treatments at her center.

Float Doctor offers services such as float therapy, infrared sauna sessions, zero-gravity massage, and personalized health consultations. These aim to support nervous system regulation and deep rest while helping clients reconnect with their bodies in a safe way. While many first visit for float therapy, Heitzmann says each service is part of an individualized approach.

“What I see most often are people who are doing everything they can, yet still feel stuck in a constant state of stress or depletion,” said Elizabeth. “My work is about slowing things down, helping people understand what their bodies are telling them, and offering supportive options that actually fit into their lives. It’s amazing how a few simple things can make a big difference.”

Heitzmann incorporates clinical insight into client interactions so individuals can learn how different wellness tools may support personal goals rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions.

With new educational resources and expanded consultation offerings planned along with community initiatives, Float Doctor continues as a wellness resource for Sheboygan residents.

The Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce serves businesses across the region through networking events, professional development programs and advocacy efforts aimed at economic growth. The organization includes more than 800 members—some operating internationally—and works closely with local partners on workforce development initiatives.

Float Doctor provides evidence-based services intended to reduce stress and inflammation while improving focus and restoring balance. Those interested in learning more about float therapy or therapist-guided wellness approaches can contact the center for information or consultations.
