Senator Eric Wimberger, a Republican representing Wisconsin’s 2nd Senate district, used his social media platform on November 5, 2025, to raise concerns about the Department of Public Instruction’s (DPI) handling of teacher misconduct cases and the absence of State Superintendent Jill Underly at a legislative hearing.
In a post made on November 5, Wimberger stated: “Today, I’ll lead the Audit Committee in questioning DPI leadership after an investigation revealed DPI fails to properly track teachers accused of grooming or sexual misconduct. The public – especially our students – deserve to know Wisconsin’s schools are safe from predators.”

Later that day, Wimberger commented on State Superintendent Jill Underly’s absence from the committee hearing.
