The Plymouth Arts Center has announced an Armed Forces Day concert featuring The Radio Rosies, a musical trio known for their renditions of classic harmonies from the 1930s through the 1950s. The concert is part of a tribute that will take place on May 17, 2025, with performances scheduled at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are priced at $20 and can be purchased either at the Plymouth Arts Center box office or online.

The opening ceremony will be conducted by The Plymouth American Legion Color Guard alongside a local performing arts veteran. The event will also highlight the artwork of local veteran artists in the PAC Great Room. Each show will include an auction of a quilt made by the Camo Quilt Project, with proceeds supporting approximately 700 quilts for troops deploying in May.

Founded in 2013, The Radio Rosies trio comprises Catherine Kahler, Heather Blachowski, and Elizabeth Novacek. They have performed across the Milwaukee area at diverse events, such as the USS Milwaukee Commissioning and the 101st Airborne Division Reunion in Madison. Each member brings a rich background in music and performance.

Heather Blachowski, the mezzo-soprano, has a history in classical dance and musical theater. Soprano Elizabeth Novacek is known for her love of 1940s music and has performed in multiple musicals and venues. Catherine Kahler, the alto, transitioned from teaching to a marketing career while continuing her involvement in local theater.

The band accompanying The Radio Rosies includes Thomas Pibal on drums, Fabian Qamar on piano, and Doug Peterson on bass. Together, they work to recreate the sound of the Greatest Generation’s vocal trios like the Andrews Sisters.

The Plymouth Arts Center, a charitable organization supported by memberships and donations, seeks to enrich community life by offering varied artistic experiences. Further information can be accessed through their website or social media platforms.
