The Manitowoc County Historical Society and Port Sandy Bay are collaborating on a fundraiser to support local history education at Pinecrest Historical Village. The event is scheduled for Thursday, March 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from each order during this time will go towards preserving and educating about local history.

The funds raised will aid the Manitowoc County Historical Society in maintaining its operations and educational programs. The society is a private non-profit organization that relies entirely on membership dues, tours, fundraising events, and donations for funding.

For further details about the Manitowoc County Historical Society, visit their website at ManitowocCountyHistory.org.

The Manitowoc County Historical Society is located in Eastern Wisconsin’s Ice Age Kettle Moraine countryside. It operates as a living history museum spread over 60 acres. This includes a Welcome Center with exhibits and research services as well as Pinecrest Historical Village—a collection of more than 25 historic buildings furnished to reflect the early settlers of Manitowoc County.

Pinecrest Historical Village was established in 1970 through a land donation by Hugo and Eleanor Vetting. It has expanded into a representation of a small Wisconsin community from the early 1900s, showcasing various architectural styles from Wisconsin’s past. The furnishings used by interpreters are either original or meticulously researched reproductions.
