Pine Haven Christian Communities is marking a significant milestone this year, celebrating 75 years of service in Sheboygan Falls. Established in 1950, the organization began as a modest three-story house with seven rooms and welcomed its first resident on October 16th. The name “Pine Haven” was inspired by the original “Pinehurst” property. Over the decades, Pine Haven has grown into a vibrant community that has impacted many lives.

Ron Walvoort, CEO of Pine Haven Christian Communities, expressed gratitude for the organization’s journey. “For 75 years God has worked through Pine Haven Christian Communities to bless the elderly of Sheboygan County with loving, compassionate care,” he said. He also emphasized their commitment to providing an environment where residents can thrive physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Pine Haven’s growth over the years includes several campuses offering different levels of care:

– Prairie Crossing Campus: Opened in July 2007, it offers a balance of independence and support.
– Oostburg Campus: Began welcoming residents in January 2010 with traditional assisted living options.
– Haven Drive Campus: Launched in summer 2015, it provides standard assisted living along with specialized care for those facing greater health challenges.
– Oostburg Duplexes: Acquired in January 2019 to offer independent living choices.

A board of directors representing 17 local churches governs Pine Haven today, ensuring its mission remains focused on compassionate, Christ-centered care. Kevin Veldhorst, Board President at Pine Haven, noted that “Pine Haven’s 75th Anniversary is its own testimony to a sovereign God.”

Throughout this year, Pine Haven will celebrate its anniversary with special announcements and social media posts highlighting key events from its history. A community-wide celebration is planned for September.

Founded by local churches in 1950, Pine Haven Christian Communities now offers a full continuum of care including independent and assisted living as well as memory care and respite services.
