Families and animal enthusiasts are invited to attend Piglet Day at the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center on Saturday, February 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event promises educational experiences with live piglets and interactive activities.

Peter Family Show Pigs from Howards Grove will be present with a litter of piglets and their mother sow. Guests can interact closely with the animals while learning from swine experts about their pigs.

“The Peter family is so special to Farm Wisconsin,” said Abigail Winkel, Farm Wisconsin brand manager. “Year after year, they take time to share not only their piglets but also their industry knowledge with our guests. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication to agriculture education.”

The Wisconsin Pork Producers and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Animal Sciences will host various pig-related activities throughout the center. Participants can engage in making Pig’s Chex Mix, designing ear tags, matching pig breeds, practicing ear notching, and other hands-on experiences.

“Our new partnerships with the Wisconsin Pork Producers and UW-Madison’s Department of Animal Sciences will offer attendees an increased opportunity to immerse themselves into the swine world this year,” added Winkel.

The Wisconsin Café at Farm Wisconsin will offer a special pulled pork sandwich. The café is open for breakfast and lunch from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

All Piglet Day activities are included in general admission prices at Farm Wisconsin. Tickets can be purchased online or at the reception desk on the day of the event.
