Manitowoc community organizations are collaborating for a “Member Swap Weekend” from May 15 to May 18, 2025. Members of six local institutions have the opportunity to explore each other’s offerings without charge during the specified dates. The organizations involved are the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, Manitowoc County Historical Society, Wisconsin Maritime Museum, Hamilton Wood-Type & Printing Museum, The Rahr-West Art Museum, and Woodland Dunes Nature Center and Preserve.

The swap initiative allows members to present their membership card at any participating museum for admittance. The number of individuals admitted per membership card depends on the membership level. Non-members are encouraged to join for participation.

Each museum offers unique experiences. The Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center provides interactive agricultural education and a birthing barn where visitors can observe daily calf births. Manitowoc County Historical Society spans 60 acres with over 30 historic structures. The Wisconsin Maritime Museum showcases the USS COBIA, a WWII submarine, and other maritime displays. Hamilton Wood-Type & Printing Museum holds an extensive collection of type and printing tools. The Rahr-West Art Museum features works by artists such as Picasso and Warhol. Woodland Dunes Nature Center and Preserve offers wildlife habitat across 1,500 acres of diverse landscapes.

Members can enjoy free entry to the other museums with no extra charge for regular admission. However, additional experiences may incur charges. More information about the event can be found at https://www.manitowoccountyhistory.org/programs/member-swap.
