The City of Manitowoc has announced a one-time leaf pickup scheduled to begin on Monday, March 9 at 7:00 a.m. This special collection is being held because an early snowfall last year prevented the usual fall leaf removal.

Residents are asked to place their leaves in the parking lane directly in front of their property before 7:00 a.m. on March 9. The city stated that “leaves will only be collected from the street as to not damage any grass areas.” Crews will make only one pass through each area for this collection.

Safety is emphasized during the pickup process. The city advised residents not to park vehicles over leaf piles and to ensure leaves are clear of parked cars. “If you see crews picking up leaves, please give them room. Large equipment backs up frequently, and we want everyone to be safe,” according to the city’s announcement.
