Manitowoc Public Library has announced its Youth Services programs for April 2025. The library aims to provide a range of activities that cater to different developmental needs and interests.

The Baby Storytime will occur on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 AM. The session is designed for developmental ages 0-2 and includes 20 minutes of stories, songs, and activities, followed by playtime. Siblings are welcome, and no registration is required.

Preschool Storytime will also happen on Wednesdays and Thursdays, starting at 10:30 AM. This program focuses on various skills and concepts for ages 2-5. The library emphasizes inclusivity, allowing families to select the storytime that best suits their needs. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult, and no registration is required.

A Drop-In Chess Club is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, from 6-7:30 PM. Chessboards are provided for those interested in practicing their skills or learning more about the game. Although staff will not offer formal instruction, all ages from 6 years and up are welcome. Children under eight require adult supervision.

Family Activity Night (FAN) will take place on Tuesday evenings. While activities are aimed at younger children, older siblings can also join. Event updates will be posted on the library’s Facebook page and event calendar.

On Tuesday, April 8, from 6:30-7:15 PM, children ages 5-11 can participate in The Sky’s the Limit: Peeps Tower Challenge. Participants use provided materials to build a structure for a Peeps bird nest, with a prize for the tallest tower.

The Comic Book Day 2025 Bookmark Art Contest begins on Monday, April 14, with entries accepted through Thursday, May 1. The contest is open to all ages, and completed bookmarks will be displayed during Comic Book Day on May 3, where visitors can vote for their favorites.

“Studies show that children who read to animals, like our therapy dogs, gain confidence and improve their overall reading,” the library notes for the Read to Certified Therapy Dogs event on Tuesday, April 15, from 6:30-7:30 PM. Registration opens on April 1 for this limited-availability program.

From April 21-27, families can participate in the Cosmic Clue Chase. This self-directed scavenger hunt celebrates the Lyrids Meteor Shower and is aimed at children in 3rd grade and up.

Football Frenzy is planned for Tuesday, April 22, from 6-7:15 PM. This event is NFL Draft themed and includes games, trivia, and photo ops. Adults must accompany children under eight.

Tech Toy Tinker Time will take place on Wednesday, April 23 from 1-3 PM. Elementary school-aged children are encouraged to explore various tech toys available at the library.
