Manitowoc Public Library has announced its Teen Services events for November 2025, offering a range of activities aimed at local youth and families.
From November 1 to November 15, teens aged 11 to 18 can sign up for the library’s new Shelf Care subscription boxes. Each box will include three books based on a monthly theme, along with snacks, a toy or art project, and stationery. The library notes that only the books and box need to be returned; other items are for recipients to keep. Supplies are limited and registration closes on the 15th of each month. More information is available at www.manitowoclibrary.org/teen-book-boxes.
The annual “Best Gift Ever” book drive runs from November 3 through December 5. Community members are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped children’s books at the First Floor Service Desk. These donations will support local nonprofits including Incourage, Lakeshore Foster Family and Friends, and the Salvation Army of Manitowoc County during the holiday season. Monetary donations are also accepted through checks made out to “Friends of the Manitowoc Public Library,” with “Best Gift Ever” in the notes line. Donations should be submitted by November 24 to ensure timely delivery.
“Owing something as simple as a book can have a tremendous impact on a child’s self-esteem and help boost their spirits. We ask that you work with us to provide new children’s books to these needy kids. The benefits will last a lifetime.”
Other programs scheduled for November include a 3D Printer Badging Session on November 5 at 5:30 PM in the Idea Box, where participants age 14 or older can learn how to use the Prusa Core One printer after completing training (registration required). A Drop-In Chess Club will take place later that evening from 6-7:30 PM in the Balkansky Community Room; all ages six and above are welcome but no formal instruction is provided.
Writers can join Space to Write sessions on Tuesdays, November 11 and 25, from 5:30-7:30 PM in the Franklin Street Room. These gatherings aim to bring together writers of various experience levels for creativity and community support.
On Thursday, November 13 from 6-7:30 PM, teens can participate in “Teen Hang-Out: On the Table—Life-Sized Oregon Trail,” an interactive group activity inspired by the classic computer game.
Open Sew and Badging with Betty is set for Monday, November 17 at 2 PM in the Idea Box for anyone aged thirteen or older interested in sewing projects or machine certification.
Finally, beginning Wednesday, November 26 through January 4, visitors can view over one hundred aluminum Evergleam trees as part of “Enchanted Evergleams at MPL.” This display coincides with “Evergleams on Eighth” organized by Manitowoc Aluminum Kitsch-Mas Inc., featuring rare tree varieties including a custom-made fourteen-foot model donated by Kansas residents.
