Manitowoc Public Library is hosting a series of children’s programs in March 2025, offering various activities designed for different age groups. These events aim to engage children and families in fun and educational experiences.

Family Activity Nights (FANs) will take place on Tuesday evenings, welcoming younger children with older siblings also invited. According to the library, “Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.” Registration is not required for these events.

On March 4, from 6:30 to 7:15 PM, local 4-H members will present “4-H Fun with Animals,” where children aged 3-11 can interact with farm animals and participate in crafting activities.

“Play Around with Treehouse Theater” is scheduled for March 18, from 6:30 to 7:15 PM. This event invites children ages 5-11 to explore theater through games and discussions about various roles within a production.

Baby Storytime sessions are set for Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 AM. The library states that “Baby Storytime is recommended for developmental ages 0-2 and siblings are always welcome.” No registration is necessary.

Preschool Storytime follows Baby Storytime on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 AM. The program focuses on skills like counting and socializing for ages 2-5. Registration is not required.

The Drop-In Chess Club will meet on Wednesday, March 5, from 6-7:30 PM in the Second Floor Balkansky Community Room. Participants of all skill levels aged six years and up can enjoy chess without formal instruction.

On Tuesday, March 11, from 6:30-7:30 PM, children can “Read to Certified Therapy Dogs.” This activity requires registration due to limited availability. Families may book one session per child starting February 25 by contacting the Youth Services Department.

“Little Steps – Brush Your Teeth!” will occur on Friday, March 14, from 10:30-11:30 AM. This session aims to teach preschoolers effective tooth-brushing techniques through stories and songs. Parents are encouraged to attend alongside their children.

The “Happy Healthy Heart Storytime” event will be held on Wednesday, March 19, from 10:30-11:15 PM featuring information from HeartCorps and FoodWise about healthy living habits.

For creative expression opportunities, Messy Marvins offers an art studio experience on Friday, March 21, between 10-11 AM for babies up to preschool-aged kids in the Balkansky Community Room.

Finally, SENSE-sational Baby Storytime provides a sensory-friendly option on Tuesday, March 25 from 10:30-11:15 AM aimed at infants up to two years old who might find regular storytimes overstimulating.
