Residents and business owners in downtown Manitowoc are being reminded of the city’s snow removal procedures. According to city guidelines, snow must be pushed off the top of the curb into the parking lane before midnight. City crews will not remove snow left on top of curbs or on sidewalks.

The city has also asked that snow along the parking lane not be pushed into large piles. Instead, if removing snow from the curb line before crews begin cleanup, it should be placed in several small piles to help maintain visibility at all corners. The city reminds residents not to push snow in front of another business.

Additionally, moving snow from private parking lots into the street is prohibited by city ordinance and may result in a citation.
