Mayor Justin M. Nickels has declared a snow emergency in Manitowoc, effective overnight from Saturday, November 29, 2025, into Sunday morning, November 30. The emergency will be in place from 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., during which time parking is prohibited on all city streets.

A citation of $75 will be issued for any vehicle parked on city streets during these hours. The city emphasized that the parking ban applies even if streets appear to have been plowed or cleared.

Residents are also reminded to keep a safe distance of at least 75 feet behind plow trucks while they are operating. “If you can’t see the driver in the mirror, the driver cannot see you. Remember plows back up frequently. Thank you for helping our crews plow the streets safely,” according to the announcement.

Salt route maps and additional information about snow and ice control are available on the City of Manitowoc’s website by navigating to Public Infrastructure under departments and selecting Snow & Ice Control and Snow/Salt Maps at www.manitowoc.org.

Updates regarding the winter parking ban will be posted on the city’s website as well as its Facebook page and through local media outlets such as WOMT, WCUB, WLKN, WTAQ, WBAY, FOX 11, NBC26, Xfinity Channel 4. Residents can also receive notifications via text message or email by signing up through the Notify Me feature on www.manitowoc.org or by calling 920-686-6550.
