The Manitowoc County Historical Society Museum and Pinecrest Village will host a Winter Weekend program focused on fiber arts on Saturday, March 15, 2025. The event will take place at 924 Pinecrest Road in Manitowoc from 11 am to 3 pm.
Participants can explore historic buildings within the village, engage in winter activities such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or sledding, and participate in various fiber arts demonstrations. Program highlights include a community quilt-making activity at the Dress Shop and weaving and spinning demonstrations at Two Creeks Town Hall. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their knitting or crochet supplies to join the Knit In session in the Sorenson parlor.
General admission covers all activities. Admission prices are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors aged 62 and above, $10 for children aged 4 to 17, while children under age four can attend for free. Members of MCHS receive complimentary general admission.
A wool spinning workshop is also part of the Create-Connect heritage skills series during the event from Noon to 3 pm. Participants will learn basic wool spinning techniques using a drop spindle and get hands-on experience with different breeds of wool. The workshop includes all necessary materials and requires advanced registration. The fee for this workshop includes general admission for the day.

The Manitowoc County Historical Society is located amidst Eastern Wisconsin’s scenic Ice Age Kettle Moraine countryside. The outdoor Pinecrest Historical Village comprises more than 25 historic buildings furnished with period pieces from early settlers of Manitowoc County.
Pinecrest Historical Village originated in 1970 following a land donation by Hugo and Eleanor Vetting family members. It has evolved into a representation of an early-1900s small Wisconsin community showcasing various architectural styles from Wisconsin’s history through its buildings’ commercial, social, and political significance.
