The Manitowoc County Historical Society has announced the cancellation of its Craft Night scheduled for May 15 due to severe weather forecasts. The decision was made with guest safety as a priority.
The society encourages crafters to attend the next event on Thursday, June 19, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Manitowoc County Historical Society Museum and Pinecrest Village, located at 924 Pinecrest Road in Manitowoc. These monthly Community Craft Nights are set for the third Thursday of each month and offer a space for community engagement among crafters.
Participants are invited to bring their own projects, whether knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, drawing, painting, scrapbooking, embroidering, or whittling. Each session will feature an item from the museum archives to inspire attendees in their work.
The series is inspired by the museum’s Heritage Trade School and Heritage Maker’s Market programs with an aim to preserve heritage crafts and trades for future generations. The events are free of charge but donations are welcomed to support the society’s mission of preserving historical stories and practices.

Located in Eastern Wisconsin’s Ice Age Kettle Moraine countryside, the Manitowoc County Historical Society is a living history museum spanning 60 acres. It features a Welcome Center with exhibits and research services alongside Pinecrest Historical Village—a collection of over 25 historic buildings reflecting early settler life in Manitowoc County.
Pinecrest Historical Village began in 1970 through a land donation from Hugo and Eleanor Vetting. It now represents a small Wisconsin community from the early 1900s with buildings showcasing various architectural styles from Wisconsin’s history. The village uses original pieces or carefully researched reproductions for its furnishings and tools.
