Lakeshore College students Kaven Lewis and Robert Talamantes have been recognized by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and Phi Theta Kappa. They have been named to the 2025 All-Wisconsin Academic Team. Additionally, Lewis has been awarded the title of Wisconsin’s 2025 New Century Workforce Scholar and a $1,500 scholarship.

The New Century Workforce Scholar initiative supports students at associate degree-granting institutions nationwide as they prepare to enter the workforce after completing their education. Lewis is working towards an associate degree in electro-mechanical maintenance. Out of nearly 2,100 nominated students from over 1,300 campuses, only one student per state was selected for this honor.

Talamantes is pursuing degrees in cybersecurity and web and software development. He is involved with Lakeshore’s Information Technology Club and TRIO, alongside his membership in Phi Theta Kappa.

Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, President and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa, stated: “This award is special in many ways and recognizes members for their distinguished academic achievements and leadership accomplishments. These individuals are role models in their colleges and communities and are worthy of our respect and emulation.”

Lakeshore College educates more than 9,000 students annually with a focus on providing individualized learning experiences. The college offers education at its Cleveland campus as well as locations in Manitowoc and Sheboygan.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation supports over 1,400 college students each year with $3.55 million in scholarships through three programs.

Phi Theta Kappa honors academic achievement at associate degree-granting colleges with over 4.4 million members globally.
