Lakeshore College in Cleveland, Wisconsin, has been awarded $1.7 million in grants from the Wisconsin Technical College System. The funds are designated to expand the college’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning installation program as well as its maintenance mechanic program. Additionally, the grant will facilitate the purchase of equipment for Lakeshore’s newly renovated Community Dental Clinic, which is set to support a new dental hygiene program launching in fall 2026.

The funding will also benefit high school students taking dual credit courses. During the 2023-24 academic year, Lakeshore reported that 1,827 high school students earned college credits through these courses, resulting in a tuition savings of $835,000 for families.

“We continue to be successful in securing grant funding. These $1.7 million in funds will directly benefit our students by providing new opportunities and resources to support their success,” stated Dr. Paul Carlsen, President of Lakeshore College.

Lakeshore College offers hands-on experience through its advanced heating, ventilation and air conditioning lab.

Lakeshore College educates over 9,000 students annually and provides real-world career skills and pathways toward bachelor’s degrees. The institution is recognized nationally as a leading two-year college with accolades from Washington Monthly, Forbes, WalletHub.com, the Aspen Institute, and more.

Approximately 800 students graduate from Lakeshore each year with associate degree graduates reporting a median salary of $55,698 within six months post-graduation. In addition to its Cleveland campus, Lakeshore operates learning campuses in downtown Manitowoc and Sheboygan.
