Lakeshore College has been recognized as a Military Friendly School for the 16th year in a row. The accolade is awarded by Viqtory, a national organization dedicated to linking the military community to education, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities. This year, Lakeshore College received a silver designation for the 2025-26 academic year.

The decision to bestow this title involved both data from public sources and feedback obtained from a specialized survey. More than 1,800 schools participated in the survey. Lakeshore College was also acknowledged as a Military Spouse Friendly School in the small community college category.

Lakeshore College partners with several local and state resources to provide support for veterans, their spouses, and dependents. These partners include County Veterans Services, the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Federal Veterans Administration.

“Lakeshore College is here to assist our military students as they successfully transition into the college and civilian work environment. This recognition shows our ongoing dedication and commitment to supporting veterans and their families,” stated Dr. Paul Carlsen, President of Lakeshore College.

Veterans at Lakeshore have access to tuition and material fee waivers, housing allowances, and additional stipends through the Wisconsin GI Bill. The college aids in processing state-level Retraining Grant Applications for veterans who are dislocated workers, National Guard Tuition Grant Applications, and VetEd Reimbursement Grants. Furthermore, they participate in the My Career Advancement Account scholarship program that offers financial support to military spouses pursuing portable careers.
