Lakeland University has announced changes to its alumni relations office aimed at increasing engagement with graduates. Sydney Pingitore, a 2022 graduate who also earned her master’s degree in 2023, has been promoted to director of alumni relations and annual giving. In this new role, she will oversee strategies for alumni involvement and manage the university’s annual giving initiatives.

The university is also seeking an assistant director of alumni relations and annual giving to support these efforts. The responsibilities for this position include organizing alumni events, supporting fundraising activities, engaging young alumni, and assisting with mentorship programs between alumni and students.

In addition, David Gallianetti, who has worked at Lakeland for 26 years as director of external relations, will transition to a new role on July 1. Gallianetti will join the alumni team to help plan and host events such as class reunions during Homecoming, recruit mentors from among the alumni community, support athletic-related initiatives involving former students, and assist the advancement team. He will place particular emphasis on working with recent graduates to keep them involved with the university.

Gallianetti will continue his leadership of Lakeland’s communication efforts in collaboration with the president’s office.

“One of Lakeland University’s most treasured assets is its talented, loyal alumni base.”

“We are excited to share several changes in the alumni office that will provide more opportunities for Lakeland and Mission House graduates to engage with their alma mater.”
