The Manitowoc County Historical Society Museum and Pinecrest Village, located at 924 Pinecrest Road in Manitowoc, has plans for its spring opening weekend celebration on Saturday, May 3. This event will feature the 19th annual Homegrown Heritage Breakfast Fundraiser from 8 am to 11 am.

The breakfast menu includes scrambled eggs from Humpty Dumpty Eggs, bread from Natural Ovens Bakery, bacon and sausage from Newton Meats, butter from Pine River Dairy, cheese from Henning’s Cheese, local jams, and maple syrup from Hilltop Maple Syrup Camp. Late’s BBQ, Manitowoc will prepare the breakfast. Funds raised will assist the Manitowoc County Historical Society in efforts to preserve and promote local history through various education programs. Tickets include museum and village admission, along with all activities, and are sold in time slots. Advanced registration is recommended due to limited walk-in availability.

The cost of the breakfast with general admission is $26 for adults, $16 for youth ages 4 to 17, and free for children under 4. Members of the Historical Society receive a $10 discount on adult and child prices.

In addition to the breakfast, living history demonstrations will be available from 10 am to 2 pm. “You’ll be able to chat with our knowledgeable costumed interpreters who keep the stories of our past alive.” Activities include hands-on historic sheep shearing demonstrations and wool-related tasks at scheduled times.
