FOIA Request to Village of Reedsville Regarding Same Day Registered Voters for 2024 Election on November 7, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at EC Wisconsin News have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for records pertaining to new voter registrations on November 5, 2024.

We believe that access to such public records is essential in our role as a media organization. It allows us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. We are particularly interested in understanding the extent of same-day voter registration during this election cycle.

Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional. We eagerly await the response from the Village of Reedsville’s clerk-treasurer and will continue to keep our readers informed about developments in this matter.

We remain committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. As always, we welcome any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
