FOIA Request to Town of Cato Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.

In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at EC Wisconsin News have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Town of Cato. The request, sent on November 7, 2024, specifically seeks a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.

As a media organization dedicated to transparency and accountability in public institutions, access to such public records is essential for us. This information allows us to effectively report on local government activities and provide the public with the necessary context and understanding of their civic processes.

We believe that as media professionals engaged in disseminating information to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver for this request. We eagerly await the response from the Town of Cato and will continue our work in ensuring transparency and accountability in local governance.
