UnitedOne Credit Union, Shoreline Credit Union, and Holy Family Memorial Credit Union are rallying residents to support the “Don’t Tax My Credit Union” campaign. Their aim is to safeguard the not-for-profit status of credit unions which help in maintaining affordable financial services for families, small businesses, and underserved individuals.

Credit unions have over 3.5 million patrons in Wisconsin, providing them with favorable rates, reduced fees, and community-centered programs. A change in federal tax laws could potentially place new financial burdens on these institutions, raising costs for members and limiting their service capacity in meeting local demands.

“Credit unions are member-owned, not-for-profit financial institutions that prioritize serving our members’ financial needs,” expressed Kim Rooney, CEO of UnitedOne Credit Union. “Taxing credit unions impacts our mission to help hardworking individuals, families, and small businesses thrive financially. We need your support to ensure our mission continues.”

To counter these proposed tax changes, Wisconsinites are encouraged to reach out to their congressional leaders and advocate against such measures. Information on involvement and support can be found by visiting related resources.

Rooted in the community for over six decades, UnitedOne Credit Union, Shoreline Credit Union, and Holy Family Memorial Credit Union emphasize the significance of their role in local financial stability.
