Big Brothers Big Sisters WI Shoreline has opened registration for its 43rd annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake event. The fundraiser will take place on February 6-7 at Odyssey Fun Center in Sheboygan Falls and on February 27-28 at Meadow Lanes North in Manitowoc.
This year’s theme is “Game On!” Participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite sports figures, board game characters, video game icons, or childhood memories. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes, most funds raised, and other categories. There will also be a live auction featuring king pins decorated by art students from Kohler and Manitowoc Lincoln.
The event is sponsored by Van Horn Automotive Group with media support from Seehafer Broadcasting. All proceeds will go toward supporting youth mentoring programs in the community. According to organizers, it costs about $2,500 to support one “Big” and “Little” match for a year.
“Ask your friends and coworkers to form a team and join us in the fun. Register a team or donate to the cause at . For more information, contact the BBBS office at (920) 458-0111,” said Anne Smith, Marketing and Events Coordinator.
Event details include costume guidelines—participants are invited to wear childhood toy or game costumes or sports apparel—and an emphasis on supporting youth mentoring programs in Sheboygan and Manitowoc counties.
Big Brothers Big Sisters WI Shoreline matches volunteer mentors with children who need additional support and guidance through evidence-based programs. The organization says that agency professionals work with each relationship to ensure interactions help young people become more self-confident and self-reliant.
