Bank First is organizing a free shredding event on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at 402 North Eighth Street in Manitowoc. The event is open to the public and aims to provide a secure way for community members to dispose of personal documents while supporting local food pantries.

Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items in exchange for each bag of documents they wish to shred. These donations will be distributed to area food pantries. Bank First emphasizes the importance of protecting one’s identity amid increasing risks of identity theft and fraud.

Confidential Records, an AAA-certified shredding company, will handle the document destruction process using a mobile shredding unit. The company assures that all documents will be securely destroyed by licensed and bonded specialists.

The event is designed for individuals rather than businesses, ensuring sufficient capacity for public participation. It will proceed regardless of weather conditions.
